Defensively, Dayton is holding their opponents to an average of 61.8 ppg on 41.5% shooting from the field. The Flyers have a rebound margin of 6.7 and a turnover margin of -2.2.

The George Mason Patriots lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 7-7 on the season after being defeated by the George Mason Patriots, 77-76, this past Monday. George Mason led by 72-59 margin with just 6:09 left in regulation, however, the Patriots struggled offensively down the stretch and George Washington was able to pull off the come from beyond victory after Joe Bamisile hit a game-winning layup for the Colonials with just :03 seconds left in regulation. George Mason shot 52.6% from the field & 25.0% from beyond the arc while allowing George Washington to shoot 49.2% from the field & 25.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Patriots was D’Shawn Schwartz who had 27 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, & 2 blocks.

On the season, George Mason is averaging 72.6 ppg on 46.2% shooting from the field. The Patriots are averaging 9.4 three-pointers per game on 35.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, George Mason has been led by Josh Oduro (17.0 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 1.2 apg, 1.1 spg, 1.5 bpg), D’Shawn Schwartz (15.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.2 apg), DeVon Cooper (13.0 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 2.6 apg), & Davonte Gaines (11.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.4 apg).

Defensviely, George Mason is allowing their opponents to average 67.0 ppg on 42.5% shooting from the field. The Patriots have a rebound margin of 4.4 and a turnover margin of -0.1.

The Flyers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games & 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games vs. George Mason. The Patriots are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games, however, are just 6-13 ATS in their last 19 January games.

Dayton has been led by their defense this season which comes into this game ranked 28th in scoring defense, 110th in defensive FG%, & 28th in rebound margin and although their scoring offense ranks just 224th in scoring offense, the Flyers have shot the ball well as they rank 19th in FG%. George Mason has been solid on both sides of the ball as the Patriots come into this game ranked 164th in scoring offense, 87th in FG%, & 126th in scoring defense.

George Mason is a good team, however, the Patriots have only played on game in January and it was not the most impressive of performances as they were barley able to get by George Washington on the road. Dayton is 5-2 in road/neutral site games this season with includes victories over Miami, Kansas, & Belmont and as I think the Flyers defense is going to give George Mason trouble in this one, I’m taking Dayton to cover this small road spread. Good Luck!
