George Mason vs Toledo 12/3/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Toledo Rockets and the George Mason Patriots meet Saturday in college basketball action from EagleBank Arena. Toledo is 5-2 on the year so far. The Rockets beat Richmond in their last game. Toledo won their first three games of the year versus Valparaiso, UAB and Oakland. The Rockets would lose consecutive outings to UMKC and East Carolina before bouncing back with a win over Northern Kentucky. 

In Wednesday’s game versus Richmond, the Rockets scored 40 points in the first half and 50 more after the break in a blowout win 90-67. Leading the scoring was JT Shumate with 20 points, and RayJ Dennis added 17 points. 

Over on the George Mason side, they lost to Auburn in their opener this year then took wins over Longwood and American. The Patriots lost three straight to Boston College, Belmont and Buffalo before recovering on a win versus Queens NC. 

Matched up versus Hofstra on Wednesday, the Patriots were down 31-26 at the break. George Mason scored 42 points in the second to force overtime and ended up with an 81-77 win. Josh Oduro doubled up on 21 points and 11 points in the victory. 

PICK: I’ll probably stay with Toledo. It’s a pretty close call, though. The Rockets have bounced back pretty well with consecutive wins following their consecutive losses to UMKC and East Carolina. Toledo has their offense working pretty well this year; they’ve hit 71 or more points in all seven games so far. 

As for George Mason, they’re coming off a great win over Hofstra. The Patriots probably overachieved in that one a bit, but overall they’ve kept things close in comparable matchups. This should be a pretty fun game to watch, and should also be competitive the whole way.
