George Washington vs Duquesne Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/4/23

The Duquesne Dukes and the George Washington Colonials meet Saturday in college basketball action from Charles E. Smith Center. Duquesne is 14-8 so far after a loss to UMass last weekend. Duquesne Dukes 

Duquesne posted a 12-4 run to start the year, losing to only Kentucky, Marshall, New Mexico State and Dayton. The Dukes are on a 2-4 run since then with losses to Richmond, St. Bonaventure, Fordham and UMass. 

In the UMass game on Saturday, the Dukes trailed 39-33 by halftime. Duquesne fell further behind on a 48-46 second half and took the loss 87-79. Leading scorer Dae Dae Grant put up 23 points with 10 rebounds. 

George Washington Colonials 

Over on the George Washington side, they lost to Hofstra, UCSD, Radford, American, Washington State, Pepperdine, Seattle and Richmond in their first 16 games. The Colonials are on a 3-3 stretch since then and coming off a loss to La Salle. 

In the La Salle game, the Colonials trailed 35-28 by halftime. George Washington was outscored 40-36 from there and took the loss 75-64. Both James Bishop and Maximus Edwards put up 14 points to lead the team.

I’ll stick with Duquesne here. The Dukes have been struggling over their last six games on this 2-4 run and they could use a good showing in this one. Duquesne has still scored pretty well over those half-dozen outings with 72 or more points in four of them; the Dukes should notch a solid total against George Washington as well. The Colonials have given up 69 or more points in 11 straight games, so Duquesne will certainly have ample scoring opportunities in this matchup.
