George Washington vs Howard 11/11/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Howard Bison and the George Washington Colonials meet Friday in college basketball action from Charles E. Smith Center. Howard has two games in the books already and sits at 1-1 on the year. Howard kicked off their 2022-23 season with an intimidating matchup versus Kentucky. The Bison were down 49-26 by halftime and limped to a 95-63 loss to superior competition. Tops in scoring for Howard was Kobe Dickson with 17 points and five boards. 

The Bison got into the win column in game two versus University of the District of Columbia. Howard trailed 37-36 at the break but surged from there in an 87-74 win. Both William Settle and Jordan Wood scored 19 points apiece with a combined 18 boards. 

Over on the George Washington side, they managed to go 12-18 overall last season with an 8-9 run in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Colonials finished around the middle of the pack in the standings and ultimately lost to UMass in the conference tourney. 

In their first action of the year back on Monday, the Colonials faced Virginia State. George Washington scored 43 points in the first half during an 85-58 win. James Bishop posted 21 points with nine assists, and Brendan Adams had 15 points. 

PICK: I’m going to stay with George Washington. Not touching this one though, as it’s tough to get a feel for the Colonials’ talent after an overmatched opener opponent. That said, George Washington did well in their first game. Five different players had at least nine points and much of the roster saw minutes. As for Howard, they were pretty lackluster up until the second half of their latest game. This should be a much closer match in talent levels, though. Should be a fun one.
