The La Salle Explorers and the George Washington Colonials meet in college basketball action from the Charles E. Smith Center on Wednesday night.
The La Salle Explorers will look to snap a four-game losing streak after a 77-69 loss at the hands of the Davidson Wildcats in their last game. Clifton Moore leads La Salle in scoring with 12.4 PPG along with 6.6 RPG while Josh Nickelberry has 12.1 PPG and Jack Clark has 10.4 PPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for La Salle so far this season. Christian Ray has a team-high 7 RPG to lead the Explorers on the glass and Anwar Gill has a team-high 3.4 APG to lead La Salle in assists. As a team, La Salle is averaging 68.5 PPG on 41.2% shooting from the field, 31.2% from three and 70% from the foul line while allowing 71.4 PPG on 42.8% shooting from the field and 34.2% from three this season.
The George Washington Colonials will look to find some measure of consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last four games after a 64-55 win over Fordham at home last time out. James Bishop leads GW in scoring with 16.8 PPG while Joe Bamisile has 14.4 PPG with 5.7 RPG to make up the pair of double-digit scorers for GW so far this season. Brendan Adams has 9.1 PPG while Ricky Lindo Jr. has 8.4 PPG with a team-high 8 RPG and Brayon Freeman has 3 APG as well to lead the Colonials so far this season. As a team, George Washington is averaging 64.6 PPG on 41.6% shooting from the field, 30% from three and 66.9% from the foul line while allowing 70.7 PPG on 43.8% shooting from the field and 30% from three this season.
La Salle is 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 road games against a team with a winning home record while the over is 7-3 in their last 10 games against a team with a winning percentage below .400. George Washington is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 home games while the under is 16-7 in their last 23 games overall.
Not a game I’m rushing to the window to bet, as this doesn’t feel like enough points with La Salle and like too many with GW. However, at least George Washington’s been winning games as of late, which is more than we can say for La Salle if we’re being honest and I just don’t feel like putting any faith in the Explorers on the road, so give me GW laying the bucket here.
