The St. Francis (PA) Red Flash and George Washington Colonials meet Tuesday in college basketball action at the Charles E. Smith Center. The St. Francis (PA) Red Flash are coming off a 10-win season and enter the 10th year under coach Rob Krimmel. The George Washington Colonials won five games last year and enter year three under coach Jamion Christian.
The St. Francis (PA) Red Flash have nowhere to go but up after last season that ended with them losing seven of their last eight games. Ramiir Dixon-Conover returns after averaging 15.5 points and 5.6 rebounds while Myles Thompson averaged 10.1 points and 1.1 assists. Ronell Giles Jr. dished 2.3 assists per game and Maxwell Land averaged 4.2 rebounds. You throw in Marlon Hargis and Mark Flagg, and St. Francis returns its top-six scorers from last season. Needless to say, the Red Flash should expect a serious bounce back season in 2020-21.
The George Washington Colonials have won no more than 12 games in each of the last three years. James Bishop returns after averaging 19.1 points and 2.9 rebounds, while Ricky Lindo Jr. averaged 11.4 points and 1.4 assists. Noel Brown played an average of 9.1 minutes per game and Hunter Dean averaged 2.9 rebounds. The George Washington Colonials lost a ton of depth from a year ago, but they do return their top player in Bishop. George Washington also got a ton of transfers and a pair of decent recruits in Brayon Freeman and Daniel Nixon.
The Red Flash are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 road games and 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games overall. The Colonials are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 Tuesday games. The under is 5-2 in Red Flash last 7 overall. The under is 4-0 in Colonials last 4 overall.
The St. Francis (PA) Red Flash ended last year so bad that I’m not looking to back them regardless of what this line is. The George Washington Colonials were better than what they showed last season, and there’s returning production to prove that. George Washington will have the two best players on the court here. Give me the Colonials in a comfortable home victory.
