Seton Hall began the year at 9-1 with only a loss to Ohio State. The Pirates have posted a 3-6 run in the last nine games. The losses in that stretch have come to Providence, Villanova, DePaul, Marquette, St. John’s and Marquette again.
In the Marquette rematch back on Wednesday, the Pirates were outscored 38-21 in the first half. Seton Hall put up a 42-35 run from there in a 73-63 defeat. Jamir Harris topped the team with 16 bench points, and Jared Rhoden chipped in 14 points with nine boards.
Over on the Georgetown side, their year began on a 6-4 run. The Hoyas have hit an ugly eight-game losing streak since then. Georgetown has lost to TCU, Marquette, Butler, St. John’s, Providence, Villanova, UConn and Butler again in that time.
Matched up against Butler on Saturday, the Hoyas were down 32-26 at halftime. Georgetown posted 27 points from there in a tough 56-53 loss. Leading the team in scoring was Aminu Mohammed with 16 points, six rebounds and two steals.
The Hoyas are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Tuesday games and the over is 4-0 in their last four after an ATS win. The over is 8-2 in Georgetown’s last 10 at home.
Meanwhile, the Pirates are 5-0 ATS in their last five Tuesday games and 4-11 ATS in their last 15 after an ATS loss. Seton Hall is 1-5 ATS in their last six overall.
PICK: I’m going to try Seton Hall here. Both these teams have been struggling lately and could use a good showing, though. The Pirates have been at 66 points or fewer in each of the last three, going 1-2 in that time. Seton Hall is normally a pretty good offensive team when the matchup is right, so there should be some decent scoring opportunities here. As for Georgetown, they’ve scored 69 or more points in four of the last five. They’ve also given up 83 or more points in four of the last five, though. Should be Seton Hall’s cover if they play to their offensive capabilities.
