Georgia Tech vs Boston College Prediction Basketball Picks 1-6-24

The Boston College Eagles and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets meet Saturday in college basketball action from McCamish Pavilion. Boston College is coming off a loss to Wake Forest that dropped the Eagles to 9-4 overall. As for Georgia Tech, they’re sitting at 8-5 after a loss to Florida State on Wednesday. Boston College Eagles 

The Eagles’ year began on a 5-3 stretch, featuring victories versus Fairfield, the Citadel, Richmond, Harvard and Vanderbilt. Boston College would then win four straight games versus Central Connecticut, Holy Cross, St. John’s and Lehigh before another loss to Wake Forest. 

In the Tuesday matchup versus the Demon Deacons, Boston College went into the locker room with a 40-36 edge. The Eagles were outscored 48-38 in the second half however, and lost 84-78 in a tough result. Quinten Post led the team in the losing effort with 20 points and three rebounds. 

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Over on the Yellow Jackets’ side, they managed a 4-3 run over their first seven games. Georgia Tech lost to UMass Lowell, Cincinnati and Georgia in that time. Wins over Alabama A&M, Penn State, UMass and Hawaii came afterward, then consecutive losses versus Nevada and Florida State. 

Matched up against Florida State in their Wednesday game, the Yellow Jackets were drilled 32-19 in the first half. Georgia Tech got better offensively from there with 52 points, however still lost 82-71. MIles Kelly was the leading scorer with his 20 points and six rebounds. 

ANDREW’S FREE BOSTON COLLEGE VS GEORGIA TECH PREDICTION 

I’ll just stay with Boston College. Both teams are coming off sketchy losses and could use a good showing here, though. The Eagles gave up 53.4 percent shooting from the floor and 47.6 percent from 3-point range to Wake Forest in their last matchup and didn’t do very well from the line on a 15-of-22 result (68.2 percent). That said, Boston College has scored 78 or more points in seven straight games (a 5-2 run) and should put up a decent total on Saturday. 

As for Georgia Tech, they’ve given up 68 or more points in five straight outings. The Yellow Jackets also have 70 or more points themselves in five of the last six games though. I like a pretty high-total finish here with an eventual Boston College cover/win, but it could get interesting if the Yellow Jackets play well.
