The Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs and the Georgia Bulldogs meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Stegeman Coliseum. Gardner-Webb is 6-6 on the year so far. The Runnin’ Bulldogs beat Converse in their last game. As for Georgia, they’re sitting at 5-7 and fresh off a loss to East Tennessee State. Gardner-Webb got off to an 0-3 start before hitting a win streak over Carver, CIU, Western Carolina and NC Central. The Bulldogs would lose their next four games as well before finally notching another win versus Converse.
In the Converse game back on December 17, Gardner-Webb posted 39 points in the first half and 40 more after the break during a 79-46 blowout win. Tops in scoring were Lance Terry and D’Maurian Williams, each with 19 points.
Over on the Georgia side, they skidded to a 3-5 start over their first eight with wins over FIU, SC State and Memphis. Since then it’s been a 2-2 run for the Bulldogs with losses to George Mason and East Tennessee State.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Georgia. The Bulldogs have certainly had their issues this year, but there have been a few flashes here and there. Georgia has hit 65 or more points in each of their last six outings, and they can score pretty well if the matchup is right.
As for Gardner-Webb, they’ve hit 70 or more points in three of their last four outings. The Runnin’ Bulldogs should be able to keep a good pace here for most of the game, but I like Georgia to bang out a cover. Should be an interesting matchup.
