The LSU Tigers and the Georgia Bulldogs meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Stegeman Coliseum. LSU is currently 11-7 on the year after a loss to Texas A&M on Saturday. As for Georgia, they’re coming off a loss to Kentucky that dropped the Bulldogs to 13-5 overall. Let’s get into our LSU vs. Georgia prediction. LSU Tigers

The Tigers went a sketchy 6-5 over their first 11 games, taking losses to Nicholls, Dayton, Syracuse, Kansas State and Texas in that time. LSU is 5-2 since then with wins over Lamar, Northwestern State, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss alongside losses to Auburn and Texas A&M.

Matched up against Texas A&M on Saturday, the Tigers held a two-point edge by halftime. LSU was outscored 40-34 from there though, resulting in a 73-69 defeat. Leading team scorer Jordan Wright put up 15 points with 10 rebounds and six assists in 34 minutes during the loss.

Georgia Bulldogs

Over on the Bulldogs’ side, they hit a rough 2-3 to start the year, then beat Winthrop, Florida State, Mercer, Georgia Tech, High Point, Mount St. Mary’s, North Florida, Alabama A&M, Missouri, and Arkansas in succession. It’s been a 1-2 run since then with losses to Tennessee and Kentucky, though.

Back on Saturday versus Kentucky, the Bulldogs were drilled 54-35 in the first half. Georgia got better from there on a 61-51 run but still lost 105-96. Jabri Abdur-Rahim was the team’s lead scorer on 34 points and two assists. Silas Demary added 22 points with four assists as well.

ANDREW’S FREE LSU VS GEORGIA PREDICTION

I’ll stay with Georgia. The Bulldogs gave up a ton of production to a talented Kentucky team in their last game: 61.9 percent shooting from the field and 56 percent from 3-point range. Georgia didn’t rebound too badly (29) and shot 50 percent from the field themselves during the loss. That makes 74 or more points in eight straight games for the Bulldogs.

As for LSU, they’ve scored 68 or more points in nine straight themselves, so if all goes well on both sides we should see a high total in this one. Ultimately I like Georgia to take the cover, but it should be interesting nonetheless.

Andrew's Free Pick: Georgia Bulldogs -3.5
