Saint Mary’s got off to a nice 18-4 start across their first 22 games this season. The Gaels managed a 6-1 stretch over the next seven outings, beating BYU, San Francisco, Gonzaga, Portland, San Diego and BYU again during that time.

Gonzaga Bulldogs
Over on the Gonzaga side, they managed a 16-4 stretch in their first 20 outings. The Bulldogs would hit a 7-1 run in their next eight, beating Pacific, Portland, Santa Clara, San Francisco, BYU, LMU and Pepperdine in that time with a lone loss to Saint Mary’s.

I’ll lean toward Gonzaga here, but you could make a case either way. This should be a great matchup. The Bulldogs are sitting on a five-game win streak right now, scoring 88 or more points in each of those outings. The last time Gonzaga posted a loss was back on February 4 against Saint Mary’s at McKeon Pavilion. The Bulldogs fell 78-70 in overtime during that one, so this rematch will likely go to the wire as well. Saint Mary’s is sitting on a four-game win streak themselves and should make for a fitting opponent. This will be a great game to watch.
