The Presbyterian Blue Hose and the Hampton Pirates meet in college hoops action from the Hampton Convocation Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Presbyterian Blue Hose will be out to rebound from a 78-77 loss to Charleston Southern in OT last time out. Rayshon Harrison leads the Blue Hose in scoring with 17.5 PPG along with 5.6 RPG and 2.5 APG while Winston Hill has 12.2 PPG with 6.2 RPG to lead the Pirates on the glass and to make up the other hand of the duo of double-digit scorers for Presbyterian this season. Trevon Reddish has 9.7 PPG with a team-leading 2.7 APG while Owen McCormack has 8.9 PPG with 5.1 RPG as well this season. As a team, Presbyterian is averaging 64.1 PPG on 41.8% shooting from the field, 30.7% from 3-point range and 68.2% from the foul line while allowing 67.1 PPG on 45.4% shooting from the floor and 34.3% from three this season.

The Hampton Pirates will be out to build on a 74-68 win over Longwood last time out. Davion Warren leads the Pirates in scoring with 21.3 PPG with 6.3 RPG while Russell Dean has 10.7 PPG and a team-high 6 APG with 4.5 RPG as well. Marquis Godwin has 10.5 PPG and Chris Shelton has 10.3 PPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Hampton up to this point in the year. Edward Oliver-Hampton has 8.3 PPG with 6.4 RPG and Dajour Dickens also has 6.6 RPG as well for the Pirates on the year. As a team, Hampton’s averaging 69.7 PPG on 43.1% shooting from the floor, 33.5% from downtown and 72% from the foul line while giving up 73.9 PPG on 42.8% shooting from the field and 34% from three this season.

Presbyterian is 4-11-1 ATS in their last 16 rpad games. Hampton is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games and 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games while the over is 20-7 in their last 27 Saturday games.

I get the case that could be made for Hampton being favored because they’re at home and Presbyterian hasn’t been the most reliable on the road. But side-by-side, the Blue Hose have outscored teams by 1.0 PPG in their last 5 games while the Pirates are being outscored by 4.6 PPG and in a close game I think I’ll want the free point with Presbyterian that actually could come in handy.
