St. Francis PA posted a 3-3 start this season, taking out Franciscan U, Lehigh and Bucknell alongside losses to George Washington, Virginia Tech and Cornell. Since then it’s been losses to Ohio and American.
In the American game, the Red Flash fell behind 43-40 in the first half and 40-33 from there in an 83-73 loss. Leading scorer Josh Cohen finished on 23 points with eight rebounds and two assists during the defeat.
Over on the Hartford side, they’ve got just the one win versus St. Francis BK on December 5. Otherwise it’s been losses to Wagner, Campbell, Army, Boston U, Merrimack, App State, Winthrop and UNLV.
Hartford gave up 44 points in the first half and 51 more in the second half to UNLV in their latest loss, ultimately losing 95-78. DJ Mitchell led the way on 19 points, and David Shriver added 18 points with eight rebounds as well.
The Hawks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five at home. Hartford is 1-4 ATS in the last five Tuesday games.
Meanwhile, the Flash are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 road games and 9-19 ATS in their last 28 overall. St. Francis is 1-4 ATS in their last five Tuesday games.
PICK: I’m going to try St. Francis here. There’s not much to like about the matchup, though. In any case, The Flash did a pretty good statistical job in their loss to American, shooting 56.6 percent from the field with 26 rebounds and 14 team assists. Trouble was, St. Francis gave up 54.2 percent shooting (and 10-of-15 from 3-point range) on the other side. Hartford won’t be able to press on offense quite that much, so St. Francis PA seems better on the cover.
