The Elon Phoenix and the High Point Panthers meet in college basketball action from the Qubein Arena on Wednesday night.

The Elon Phoenix will look to snap a six-game losing skid after a 69-53 loss to Radford last time out. Sean Halloran has 12.4 PPG and a team-high 4.1 APG to lead the Phoenix in assists while Torrence Watson has 12 PPG with a team-high 5.1 RPG to lead the Phoenix in rebounding up to this point in the season as the only other double-digit scorer for Elon so far. Zac Ervin also has 9.9 PPG while Deandre Smart has 9 PPG and 3.8 RPG this season. As a team, Elon is averaging 66.1 PPG on 39.8% shooting from the field, 29.1% from three and 70.4% from the foul line this season.

The High Point Panthers will try to add to their 77-72 win over Tennessee State last time out. Jaden House leads High Point in scoring with 22.3 PPG along with 4.2 RPG while Abdoulaye Thiam has 15.7 PPG with 5.7 RPG and Zack Austin has 15.2 PPG with a team-high 6.3 RPG to lead the Panthers in rebounding and to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for High Point so far this season. Bryant Randleman has a team-high 4 APG to lead High Point in assists while Ahmard Harvey also has 7 RPG this season. As a team, High Point is averaging 85.8 PPG on 45.8% shooting from the field, 35.4% from three point range and 63.9% from the foul line this season.

I get the case to be made on either side here, but I’m leaning towards High Point as they’ve done a bit better against what they’ve had put in front of them this season while Elon continues to get battered left and right. I just look for High Point’s offense to do enough to get themselves a win and cover here.
