Holy Cross vs Colgate 2/23/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Colgate Raiders and the Holy Cross Crusaders meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Hart Center. Colgate is coming off a Monday game versus American. In that matchup, the Raiders put up a 14-point victory. As for Holy Cross, they played Lafayette in their Monday outing. The Crusaders ended up losing by 23 points. Colgate started out the year a sketchy 4-10 but the team has gotten much better in the conference schedule. The Raiders hit a win streak in late January, taking out Loyola MD, Lafayette, Army and Boston U in the quartet heading into Monday’s outing. 

In the Monday matchup versus Boston U, the Raiders turned a 31-26 halftime lead into a 63-49 win thanks to a 32-23 run in the second half. Jack Ferguson led the team with 15 points and Keegan Records doubled with 11 points and 11 boards. 

Over on the Holy Cross side, they had similar early-season trouble and began the year at 3-15. The Crusaders would go 6-3 over their next nine games, beating Lehigh, Boston U, Army, Loyola MD, Bucknell and Navy in that time. 

Matched up against Lafayette on Monday, the Crusaders got off to a rough start with a 22-39 halftime deficit. Holy Cross didn’t get any closer in an 84-61 loss. Gerald Gates was the top team scorer on 18 points and seven boards. 

The Crusaders are 1-4 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 at home. The under is 3-1-1 in Holy Cross’ last five at home. 

Meanwhile, the Raiders are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 4-0 ATS in the last four after an ATS loss. The under is 5-1 in Colgate’s last six overall. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Colgate here. The Raiders are on a nice run over this 10-game winning streak and scoring fairly well. Colgate has hit 69 or more points in eight of those 10 outings. The last time these teams met up, Colgate managed an 87-60 win at home on February 7. With Holy Cross struggling over this 1-3 stretch I don’t think they’ll be able to keep the pace if Colgate gets going.
