We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Houston Christian vs McNeese State pick.
McNeese Cowboys Betting Preview
The Cowboys have had a pretty good season so far. McNeese opened on a 6-1 run, losing to only Santa Clara amid wins over Champion Christian, College of Biblical Studies, Louisiana, George Washington, Murray State and Middle Tennessee otherwise. After another loss to Incarnate Word, the Cowboys beat Northwestern State and Rhode Island in the next pair. Through their first 10 games of the season the Cowboys had a solid 8-2 record overall.
In the Friday matchup with East Texas A&M, the Cowboys didn’t have many issues. McNeese hit 59 points in the first half and 43 more from there on the way to a blowout win 102-66. Tyshawn Archie led the team on 24 points with three rebounds while Larry Johnson put up 17 points with eight boards. DJ Richards added 16 points with three assists as well.
Houston Christian Huskies Betting Preview
Over on the Houston Christian side, they went 3-2 in their first five games with losses to UC San Diego and Bellarmine. The wins otherwise in that quintet came versus Southern Arkansas, LA-Monroe and College of Biblical Studies. The next four were a 2-2 run with wins over the Citadel and New Orleans sandwiched around losses to Georgia Southern and North Texas. In their first nine games the Huskies managed a 5-4 overall run this year.
Matched up against SE Louisiana on Saturday, Houston Christian scored 36 points in the first half and 30 more in the second but ended up losing a tough one in overtime 74-71. Both Trent Johnson (four rebounds) and Elijah Brooks (five rebounds) had a team-high 17 points apiece, and Kylin Green chipped in eight points with 10 assists and nine boards in the losing effort.

Houston Christian vs McNeese Prediction
I’ll stick with McNeese I suppose. The Cowboys didn’t have a whole lot of trouble versus East Texas A&M in their last game, hitting a nice 55.6 percent from the field with 54.2 percent (13-of-24) from outside and 38 rebounds. McNeese had 25 team assists but also coughed up 15 turnovers in the win. The Cowboys have 92 or more points in two of the last three games (winning all three), the outlier being a 66-64 victory over Rhode Island last Tuesday. If McNeese can put up a 70-plus points total here they should be in good shape.
As for Houston Christian, they shot pretty well (44.8 percent) and had a 35-28 rebounding edge in their latest OT loss to Southeastern LA. The Huskies did cough up 16 turnovers though, which didn’t help their cause. Houston Christian does have a nice 69 or more points in eight of 10 games this year, but they’re giving up a lot of scoring to decent offenses as well.
