The Portland State Vikings and the Idaho Vandals meet Thursday in college basketball action from ICCU Arena. Portland State is 11-15 on the year. The Vikings beat Idaho State in their last game. Portland State was sitting at just 4-13 back on January 27, but they’ve had much better luck since then. The Vikings are 7-2 in their last nine, beating Northern Arizona (twice), Northern Colorado (twice), Sac State, Weber State and Idaho State in that time.
In the Idaho State game, the Vikings were down by 10 points at halftime but rallied to force an extra period. After overtime, Portland State emerged with a 73-69 comeback win. Khalid Thomas put up 27 points with seven boards to lead the team.
Over on the Idaho side, it’s been a rough season and the team has only been able to win consecutive games a couple of times so far. Since a recent three-game win streak, the Vandals have fallen to Sacramento State and Northern Colorado in their last pair.
On Saturday versus Northern Colorado, the Vandals were outscored 40-53 in the first half. Idaho hit 54 points from there but it wasn’t enough in a 98-94 loss. Trevante Anderson was the top scorer with 32 points and nine rebounds in the defeat.

PICK: I’m going to try Portland State here. Probably not going near it, though. The Vikings have gotten into a good rhythm over the last three games, and they’re scoring well lately. Portland State has hit 68 or more points in 11 straight games.
The last time these teams met up back on January 24, Idaho posted an 84-79 road victory. The Vikings have been playing much better since then, and I like Portland State to bag a revenge cover here in a fun matchup.
