Evansville has had a rough season so far. They have yet to win consecutive games. It’s been a 1-9 run through the Aces’ last 10 games with losses to SEMO, Northern Iowa, Drake, Bradley, Loyola, Illinois state, Northern Iowa, Missouri State and Bradley again.
In the Bradley rematch over the weekend, the Aces managed just 19 points in the first half and 22 in the second on the way to a rough 76-41 blowout loss. The only team player in double-figures was Evan Kuhlman with 11 points and one assist.
Over on the Indiana State side, they posted a reasonable 8-6 start to the year but since then they’ve gone 1-7. The losses in that stretch have been to Northern Iowa, Loyola, Southern Illinois, Valparaiso, Bradley, Drake and Valparaiso again.
Back on Saturday versus Valparaiso, the Sycamores played a tight game the whole way. It took two overtimes, but Indiana State eventually faltered 79-72. Cameron Henry led the team in the defeat with 28 points, eight assists and six rebounds.
Indiana State is 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 at home and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven overall. The Sycamores are 4-0 ATS in their last four Tuesday games.
Meanwhile, the Aces are 1-4 ATS in the last five road games and 1-4 ATS in the last five Tuesday games. Evansville is 9-20-3 ATS in their last 32 after an ATS loss.
PICK: I’m going to stay with Indiana State. There’s not a whole lot to like here, though; both teams have struggled mightily over their last several games. In any case, the Sycamores have had a few rough scoring outings lately but should match up well here. Evansville has given up 72 or more points in five of their last seven games. It may not be pretty, but Indiana State should have the advantage on a cover in this one.
