Indiana State vs North Dakota State 11/17/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The North Dakota State Bison and the Indiana State Sycamores meet Thursday in college basketball action from Hulman Center. North Dakota State is 0-3 so far. The Bison lost to Pacific in their most recent game. As for Indiana State, they’re coming off a win over Ball State that brought the team to 2-0 overall. North Dakota State kicked off the season with two very tough matchups. The Bison lost 76-58 to Arkansas in their opener, then took on Kansas three days later. North Dakota State fell behind the Jayhawks 48-19 by halftime and lost 82-59. 

The Bison offense woke up in the Pacific game back on Sunday, but the result was still the same. North Dakota State scored 57 second-half points on the way to a 91-86 loss. Sam Hastreiter put up 24 points and six rebounds, while Grant Nelson doubled on 19 points and 12 boards. 

Over on the Indiana State side, their first game last Monday was against Green Bay. The Sycamores had a modest three-point lead at the break but surged from there in an 80-53 win. Courvoisier McCauley (23 points; 10 rebounds) and Trenton Gibson (18 points; 11 boards) both doubled up. 

Indiana State faced off against Ball State in their second outing. The Sycamores scored 43 points in the first half and 40 more in the second on the way to an 83-71 victory. Cooper Neese topped the team on 17 points with four rebounds. 

PICK: I’m probably going to stick with Indiana State. The Sycamores are off to a good start through two games. In the Ball State matchup, Indiana State shot a nice 50.8 percent from the field. Though the Sycamores were out-rebounded 38-30 (16-9 offensive), they made up for it with a 19-12 turnover advantage and 13 team assists. If they can keep it rolling, Indiana State should be able to take care of business here. This could turn into a high-scoring affair if the Bison are hitting shots as well.
