The Auburn Tigers and the Indiana Hoosiers meet Saturday in college basketball action from State Farm Arena. Auburn lost to Appalachian State in their last game, dropping the Tigers to 5-2 overall. As for 7-1 Indiana, they’re sitting on a four-game win streak, most recently taking out Michigan. Let’s get into our Auburn vs. Indiana prediction. Auburn Tigers 

The Tigers lost to Baylor in their opener this year 88-82. After that Auburn hit a nice five-game win streak though, taking out SE Louisiana, Notre Dame, St. Bonaventure, Alabama A&M and Virginia Tech. In the win over the Hokies 74-57, the Tigers held the opposition to just 27.5 percent shooting from the field. 

Auburn wasn’t able to keep their run going against Appalachian State in their last matchup. The Tigers were down 33-31 by the break and didn’t end up getting any closer in a 69-64 loss. Auburn’s top scorer was Johni Broome with 21 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double in the losing effort. 

Indiana Hoosiers 

Over on the Indiana side, they kicked off the year with a three-game win streak over Florida Gulf Coast, Army and Wright State. The Hoosiers recorded their lone loss of the season 77-57 versus UConn, then beat Louisville, Harvard and Maryland in the next trio. Indiana managed to hold the Terrapins to just 12.5 percent (2-of-16) from outside in that one. 

Matched up against Michigan in their last outing, Indiana was down 39-37 by halftime. The Hoosiers bounced back with a 41-36 run from there however and won it 78-75. Leading the way was Malik Reneau with 15 points and six rebounds, while Kel’el Ware added 13 points and eight boards. 

ANDREW’S FREE AUBURN VS INDIANA PREDICTION 

I’ll probably just stay with Indiana here. The Hoosiers had a bit of trouble shaking off a tricky Michigan team in their last outing, but ended up shooting 51.7 percent from the field with 30 rebounds. The assists (seven) and turnover (13) numbers weren’t great, though. Still, Indiana has hit 74 or more points in three of the four games during this current win streak. 

As for Auburn, they shot a rough 39.4 percent from the field versus App State in their last outing but were still quite strong on the boards with 48 rebounds. The Tigers can compete here if they’re playing well; they’ve hit 74 or more points in six of seven outings. I still like Indiana a little better on the cover, though.
