The Iowa Hawkeyes and the Indiana Hoosiers meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Bloomington Assembly Hall. Iowa beat Michigan in their last game, improving to 12-8 overall this year. As for Indiana, they’re sitting at 12-8 as well after a loss to Illinois on Saturday. Let’s get into our Iowa vs. Indiana prediction. Iowa Hawkeyes

The Hawkeyes started out on a .500 run through their first 10 games this year, but they’ve been better since then. Iowa is 7-3 in their last 10 games with wins over Florida A&M, UMBC, Northern Illinois, Rutgers, Nebraska, Minnesota and Michigan alongside loses to Wisconsin, Purdue and Maryland.

In the Michigan game, the Hawkeyes were within two points 44-42 at halftime. Iowa hit a 46-34 run in the second half during a victory 88-78. Payton Sandfort was the leading team scorer with 26 points, six rebounds and three assists. Tony Perkins added 24 points with five assists and three steals.

Indiana Hoosiers

Over on the Indiana side, they posted a pretty solid 10-3 stretch over their first 13 outings with losses to UConn, Auburn and Kansas. The Hoosiers are 2-5 in their last seven with losses to Nebraska, Rutgers, Purdue, Wisconsin and Illinois along with wins over Ohio Sate and Minnesota.

In the Illinois game, the Hoosiers trailed 38-34 going into the second half. Indiana was outscored 32-28 the rest of the way in a 70-62 defeat. Leading the team in scoring was Malik Reneau on 21 points, even rebounds and one assist. Xavier Johnson chipped in 14 points and four rebounds as well.

ANDREW’S FREE IOWA VS INDIANA PREDICTION

I’ll stick with Indiana here. The Hoosiers were able to keep pace with a talented Illini team pretty well in their last outing, shooting 46.3 percent from the field. Indiana went an ugly 0-of-9 from 3-point range and 12-of-22 (54.5 percent) from the line however, which didn’t help their cause in the loss. The Hoosiers have been through a tough three-game stretch, scoring 66 or fewer points in two of those.

As for Iowa, they were competitive against Maryland recently and otherwise have just one loss in the last six games. The Hawkeyes have hit 70 or more points in 10 of their last 11 games, so we should have a fairly high total in this one. It’ll be a good matchup, and I like the Hoosiers to eke out the home cover/win in the end.
