The Jackson State Tigers and the Indiana Hoosiers meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Bloomington Assembly Hall. Jackson State is 0-4 on the year and fell to Marshall by 14 points in their last game. As for the Hoosiers, they’re rolling along at 4-0 so far and coming off a win over Louisiana. Jackson State started off the year with a tough draw against Illinois. The Tigers fell 71-47 in that one, but did a better job against LA Tech in a 70-68 loss during game two. Jackson State lost again in their next outing 77-64 to Cal Baptist.

On Sunday against Marshall, the Tigers were within one point at halftime but were outscored 42-29 from there in an 80-66 loss. Gabe Watson posted 18 points to lead the team, and Jayveous McKinnis had 10 points with 12 boards.

Over on the Indiana side, it’s been smooth sailing so far. The Hoosiers toughed out a 68-62 win over Eastern Michigan in their opener, then beat Northern Illinois 85-49. Indiana had another close one in game three, 76-74 over St. John’s.

On Sunday versus Louisiana, the Hoosiers notched another blowout win. Indiana was up 37-14 at the break and cruised to the 76-44 result. Parker Stewart led the team with his 16 points in 18 minutes, and Trayce Jackson-Davis put up 11 points and seven rebounds.

The Hoosiers are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four Tuesday games. The over is 7-1 in Indiana’s last eight after an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 road games and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 Tuesday games. Jackson State is 5-2-1 ATS in the last eight overall.

PICK: I’m probably staying with Indiana here. The Hoosiers had no issues at all against Louisiana in their last outing, shooting 53.8 percent from the floor with 47 rebounds. Indiana held the Cajuns to just 19.2 percent shooting, but also had a sloppy game on 27 turnovers and 25 fouls.

As for Jackson State, they didn’t shoot (37.9 percent) or rebound (38) horribly against Marshall but still had an awful second half. I don’t see the Tigers hanging around for too long in this one if Indiana is shooting well.
