Indiana vs Kennesaw State 12/23/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Kennesaw State Owls and the Indiana Hoosiers meet Friday in college basketball action from Bloomington Assembly Hall. Kennesaw State enters this one at 8-4 so far. The Owls beat USC Upstate in their last appearance. As for Indiana, they’re 9-3 on the season and fresh off a win over Elon. Kennesaw State went 4-2 over their first six games, taking losses to Florida and Campbell. In the six games since, the Owls are also 4-2. Kennesaw State beat Mercer, Charleston Southern, Georgia College and USC Upstate in that stretch. 

In the USC Upstate matchup back on Tuesday, the Owls held a slim two-point lead by halftime. Kennesaw State hit a 37-30 edge in the second half for a 65-56 win. Leading scorer Terrell Burden put up 16 points, three rebounds and one assist. 

Over on the Indiana side, they won seven straight games to kick off the season, then fell to Rutgers on December 3. The Hoosiers are 2-2 since then with wins over Nebraska and Elon mixed with losses to Arizona and Kansas. 

Matched up against Elon in the Tuesday matchup, Indiana was up 47-29 by halftime. The Hoosiers outscored the Phoenix 49-43 in the second half for a 96-72 win. Race Thompson put up 18 points with 11 rebounds and Jalen Hood-Schifino had 17 points. 

PICK: I’ll probably stay with Indiana here. Also probably not going near it. The Hoosiers have a trio of relative dud performances against top-level national teams this year (Rutgers, Arizona and Kansas). That said, Indiana has handled all other comers very well. The Hoosiers have 77 or more points in all nine of their wins so far and they’ll likely post a big total here as well. As for Kennesaw State, they’ve got 66 or fewer points in five of their last seven outings. I don’t think the Owls will keep up for long in this one if Indiana gets going.
