In this article we will formulate a Iowa State vs Mississippi Valley State prediction for this College Basketball game on Monday, November 4th at the Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this College Basketball matchup.

Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils Betting Preview

The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils went 1-30 last year and they were 1-17 in the SWAC, which was 12th in the conference. Mississippi Valley State scored 55.5 points per game last season and they allowed 77.7 points against per game. Mississippi Valley State opened last season with a 106-60 loss against LSU and they weren’t even competitive in their first six games. The Delta Devils were more competitive in conference play, but it only resulted in one win, which came against Prairie View by a score of 57-51.

Mississippi Valley State is expected to be one of the worst programs once again this year, and it doesn’t help that they play a very difficult non-conference schedule. The Delta Devils did lose their leading scorer from last season, but Donovan Sanders did average 10.5 points and 3.0 rebounds per game last year. After Sanders, there isn’t much production returning, so it will be an uphill battle for the Delta Devils.

Iowa State Cyclones Betting Preview

The Iowa State Cyclones were 29-8 last season and they finished 13-5 in the Big 12, which was second in the conference. Iowa State scored 75.3 points per game last season and they allowed just 61.5 points against per game. Iowa State opened the 2023-24 season with an 85-44 win over Green Ba. The Cyclones were one of the top teams in the Big 12 last season and they won the Big 12 Tournament, as they defeated Houston by a score of 69-41 in the final. Iowa State won two games in the NCAA Tournament, but lost to Illinois by a score of 72-69.

Iowa State brings back most of their production from last season and they are expected to be one of the top teams in the country this season. The Cyclones bring back their four players that averaged double-digits last season and added one transfer down low. I am very excited to watch this Iowa State team and they are a legit contender to win it all.

Iowa State vs Mississippi Valley State Prediction

Mississippi Valley State opens up their season against one of the best teams in the country, which is not good news for a team that won just once last year. Iowa State is a great defensive team and they have been for a while, but they should be very high scoring on the offensive end this season. I expect this Cyclones team to hit the ground running, as they don’t have many new faces in the rotation. This is a huge spread to cover, but with how bad Mississippi Valley State is expected to be, it’s Iowa State or pass for me.
