The Missouri Tigers and the Iowa State Cyclones meet in college basketball action from the Hilton Coliseum on Saturday.
The Missouri Tigers will look to rebound after losing four of their last five games after a 55-54 loss to Auburn in their last game. Kobe Brown leads the Tigers in scoring and rebounding with 13.5 PPG and 8.7 RPG while Amari Davis has 10.3 PPG and Jarron Coleman has 10.1 PPG with a team-high 3.1 APG as well to lead the Tigers in assists so far this season. Javon Pickett also 9.9 PPG as well for Missouri this season. As a team, Missouri is averaging 67 PPG on 42.1% shooting from the field, 27.2% from three and 72.5% from the foul line while allowing 71.2 PPG on 43.7% shooting from the field and 34.8% from three this season.
The Iowa State Cyclones will be out to build on an 84-81 win in OT over Oklahoma State last time out. Izaiah Brockington leads the Cyclones in scoring and rebounding with 16.9 PPG and 7.9 RPG while Gabe Kalscheur has 10.2 PPG and Tyrese Hunter has 10.5 PPG with a team-high 5 APG to lead the Cyclones in assists and to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Iowa State so far this season. As a team, Iowa State is averaging 69.7 PPG on 44.9% shooting from the field, 33% from three and 69.4% from the foul line while allowing 61 PPG on 41.1% shooting from the field and 26.9% from three this season.
Missouri is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a loss while the over is 8-1 in their last 9 Saturday games. Iowa State is 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games against a team with a losing record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games against a team with a road winning percentage below .400 while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a win.
I get why it’s easy to consider the points with Missouri after taking Auburn to the limit, but the Tigers also suffered a big heartbreak in that game ad have to be frustrated with questionable decision-making to not foul in the dying seconds. Not Missouri has to go on the road where they’ve struggled pretty much all year long and have to go against a Cyclones team that’s gotta be hungry to get back on track and play lie they did to start the year. Just seems like a down spot for me for the Tigers, so I’ll lay the points with Iowa State in this one.
