The Texas A&M Aggies and the Iowa State Cyclones meet Sunday in college basketball action from HP Field House. Texas A&M saw their win streak snapped Friday versus FAU, dropping to 5-1 overall. As for Iowa State, they faced a similar situation in their last game, falling to 5-1 with a Friday loss to Virginia Tech. Have a look at our Texas A&M vs Iowa Prediction.

Texas A&M Aggies

The Aggies rolled through their first five games of the year without too many issues, beating Texas A&M-Commerce, Ohio State, SMU, Oral Roberts and Penn State along the way. Texas A&M managed a nice 59.6 percent shooting from the field in their win over the Nittany Lions and took the rebounding edge 33-20.

Texas A&M hit a tough matchup in game six versus Florida Atlantic. The Aggies were within two points at the break but ended up falling 96-89 after giving up 50 second-half points. Wade Taylor led the team in the losing effort with 35 points and five assists, while Anderson Garcia hauled in 13 rebounds.

Iowa State Cyclones

Over on the Iowa State side, they similarly chugged though their first five games. The Cyclones’ wins came versus Green Bay, Lindenwood, Idaho State, Grambling State and VCU in that time. Iowa State gave up 45.5 percent shooting in the 68-64 win over VCU, but also bagged 38 rebounds to the Rams’ 29 (17-5 offensive).

Matched up against Virginia Tech on Friday, the Cyclones were down 40-30 by halftime. Iowa State got better in the second half but still lost 71-62. Tops in scoring was Milan Momcilovic with 21 points. Tamin Lipsey added 18 points with five rebounds and four assists, and Tre King put up 10 points with seven boards.

ANDREW’S FREE IOWA STATE VS TEXAS A&M PREDICTION

I’ll probably just stick with Texas A&M. It’ll be an interesting matchup, though. The Aggies shot quite well in the FAU loss, hitting 47.8 percent from the field and 10-of-22 (45.5 percent) from 3-point range. Texas A&M also had a nice 44-25 rebounding edge (24-9 offensive) but gave up 53.6 percent shooting on the other side. If Iowa State is hitting shots on Sunday, we’ll have a high-scoring finish.

Speaking of the Cyclones, they notched a tepid 23.8 percent from 3-point range and coughed up 13 turnovers in the Virginia Tech loss. The 15-of-26 rate (57.7 percent) from the line didn’t help either. I like Iowa State to shoot a little better here, but they’ll also probably get bested on the boards.

Mitch Wilson's Free Pick: Texas A&M Aggies -1
