Kansas State Preview

The Kansas State Wildcats are 19-14 (8-10) this year after they lost to Iowa State by a score of 76-57 in the Big 12 tournament. Kansas State has won two of their last three games, with the two wins coming against Texas and Iowa State. The Wildcats finished the season by winning four of their last seven games. Kansas State does have other quality wins against BYU, Kansas, Baylor, Villanova, and Providence. The Wildcats are scoring 71.9 points per game with 37.2 rebounds per game and 13.9 assists per game, while allowing 70.5 points against per game this year. Tylor Perry is averaging 15.5 points per game, 3.0 rebounds per game, and 4.4 assists per game. Kansas State is shooting 43.5% from the field, 72.5% on free throws, and 32% on three pointers this season.

Iowa Preview

The Iowa Hawkeyes are 18-14 (10-10) this season after they lost to Ohio State by a score of 90-78 in the Big Ten tournament. Prior to that loss against Ohio State, Iowa finished the regular season by winning two of their last three games. The Hawkeyes were a decent Big Ten team this season and they have won four of their last seven games. Iowa has quality wins against Michigan State, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Seton Hall. The Hawkeyes are scoring 82.9 points per game with 35.4 rebounds per game and 17.8 assists per game, while giving up 79 points against per game this year. Payton Sandfort is averaging 16.3 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game, and 2.8 assists per game. Iowa is shooting 47.5% from the field, 77.8% on free throws, and 34.7% on three pointers this season.

Kansas State vs Iowa Betting Prediction

Both of these teams tried to make late pushes for the NCAA Tournament, but they came up short and will face off in the NIT. Iowa is a very high scoring team that shoots a high percentage from the field, but their defense is not good. The Hawkeyes have allowed at least 80 points in four of their last five games. Kansas State is a lower scoring team, but they play much better defense. The Wildcats finished the season very well, beating Iowa State and Texas in two of their last three games. Iowa is 13-4 at home, while Kansas State is only 2-8 on the road. I think the home court advantage will be favorable for Iowa, as Kansas State struggles away from home, but I do not like this Iowa defense. Take the points with Kansas State.
