Nebraska managed to go 5-2 in their first seven games this year. Things haven’t gone well since then, however; the Cornhuskers have won just twice since November 27. One of those victories came on Wednesday versus Minnesota.

In the matchup versus the Gophers back on Wednesday, the Cornhuskers posted a 32-21 edge in the first half and kept it going with a 46-44 second-half run in a 78-65 win. Alonzo Verge led the team with his 22 points and four assists.

Over on the Iowa side, their year started out at a decent 7-3 clip. The Hawkeyes south then hit another 7-3 run heading into late January. After losses to Purdue and Penn State, the Hawkeyes took out Minnesota and Maryland in their last pair.

On Thursday versus Maryland, Iowa didn’t have much trouble. The Hawkeyes scored 57 points in the first half and 53 more from there in a 110-87 blowout win. Keegan Murray and Jordan Bohannon each notched 30 points to lead the team.

The Hawkeyes are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 Sunday games and the over is 18-7-1 in their last 26 overall. The over is 15-5-1 in Iowa’s last 21 at home.

Meanwhile, the Cornhuskers are 5-1 ATS in their last six overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five Sunday games. The over is 13-6 in Nebraska’s last 19 overall.

PICK: I’m staying with Iowa here. The Hawkeyes have done fairly well during this rough Big Ten schedule; for the most part they’re staying with opponents and the losses haven’t been awful. Iowa is also scoring well against just about every team they’ve faced. As for Nebraska, they’ve been at 65 points or fewer in three of their last five games but the Cornhuskers can score decently in comparable matchups. Still, this one should belong to Iowa if they play to their capabilities.
