The Penn State Nittany Lions will play the Iowa Hawkeyes in a Big Ten game on Tuesday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa. Penn State has won two games in a row, while Iowa has won two of their last three. Let’s take a look at the betting matchup and the Penn State vs Iowa prediction.

Penn State Preview

The Penn State Nittany Lions are 14-14 (8-9) this season after they defeated Indiana by a score of 83-74 in their last game. Penn State led 40-33 at the half and they added 43 second half points in the win. The Nittany Lions shot 45.3% from the field and made 26 free throws in the game. Penn State defeated Illinois by a score of 90-89 in the game prior to Indiana, but lost the previous three games. The Nittany Lions are scoring 75.6 points per game with 31.3 rebounds per game and 12.4 assists per game, while allowing 73.9 points against per game this year. Iowa Preview

The Iowa Hawkeyes are 16-12 (8-9) this year after they lost to Illinois by a score of 95-85 in their last game. Iowa only trailed 44-43 at halftime, but they allowed 51 points in the second half for the loss. The Hawkeyes shot 47.6% from the field and were -6 in rebounding margin in the game. Iowa defeated Michigan State by a score of 78-71 and Wisconsin by a score of 88-86 in the two games prior to Illinois. The Hawkeyes are scoring 83.5 points per game with 35.8 rebounds per game and 17.4 assists per game, while giving up 78.7 points against per game this season. Payton Sandfort is averaging 15.4 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game, and 2.5 assists per game. Iowa is shooting 47.9% from the field, 78% on free throws, and 33.5% on three pointers this year.

Penn State vs Iowa Betting Prediction

Both of these teams come into this game with a conference record of 8-9, but Iowa will have the home court here. The Hawkeyes have played pretty decent basketball over their last five games and they are 11-3 at home this season. Penn State has won two straight games, but both of those games were at home. The Nittany Lions are only 2-6 on the road this year, including a 68-49 loss to Nebraska in their last road game. Neither team plays much defense in this matchup, so we should see plenty of points here. Penn State did beat Iowa in their first meeting by a score of 89-79 and I like the Nittany Lions with the points here.
