IUPUI vs Wisconsin-Milwaukee Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/2/23

The Milwaukee Panthers and the IUPUI Jaguars meet Thursday in college basketball action from Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Milwaukee is 15-7 overall this year. The Panthers beat Northern Kentucky in their last game. As for IUPUI, they’re 3-20 after a loss to Cleveland State on Sunday. Milwaukee Panthers 

Milwaukee hit a 10-5 run over their first 15 games, losing to Purdue, Iowa State, St. Thomas MN, Chattanooga and Oakland in that time. The Panthers are 5-2 since then with losses to Wright State (twice). 

On Saturday versus Northern Kentucky, the Panthers were drilled 47-27 in the first half. Milwaukee stormed back on a 48-27 second-half run and bagged the comeback win 75-74. BJ Freeman put up 23 points and nine assists to lead the way. 

IUPUI Jaguars

Over on the Jaguars’ side, they haven’t had much luck at all this year. IUPUI has wins over only Franklin, Spalding and Texas A&M-Commerce so far this season. They’re on a 10-game losing streak, falling most recently to Cleveland State. 

Back on Sunday in the Cleveland State matchup, the Jaguars took a 47-32 deficit into the locker room. IUPUI posted a 40-31 run from there but it wasn’t enough in a 78-72 defeat. Armon Jarrard was tops with 22 points and three assists. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’m leaning toward Milwaukee in this one. The Panthers pulled off a pretty excellent comeback win over a good Northern Kentucky team in their last outing and they’re now 7-1 in their last eight outings. Milwaukee managed a 74-61 win over IUPUI at UWM Panther Arena on December 3 the last time these teams met up, and they should post a good showing here as well. As for IUPUI, the good news is that they’ve scored well lately with 72 or more points in four straight games. The Jaguars are still giving up a ton of points on the other side, though.
