Jacksonville State vs Lipscomb Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 1/26/23

The Bisons beat Bellarmine in their last game. As for Jacksonville State, they’re 8-13 on the season following a loss to Stetson on Saturday. Lipscomb Bisons

Lipscomb lost to South Dakota, Notre Dame, Alabama A&M, Tennessee State, Michigan, Stetson and Liberty in their first 16 games. The Bisons are 4-1 since then with wins over Austin Peay (twice), Eastern Kentucky and Bellarmine. 

In the Bellearmine matchup on Saturday, the Bisons were up 35-22 going into the second half. Lipscomb kept it up on a 34-27 run from there and won 69-49. Tommy Murr was the leading team scorer on 14 points with three rebounds. 

Jacksonville State Gamecocks

Over on the Jacksonville side, they beat Shorter, Elon, East Tennessee State, North Dakota State, Reinhardt, Little Rock and GSW in their first 16 games. The Gamecocks are 1-4 in their last five with a lone win over North Florida. 

Matched up against Stetson on Saturday, the Gamecocks took a 54-43 deficit into the break. Jacksonville State got better with 38 points from there but still fell 87-81. Payton Daniels topped the team with 21 points and six assists.

I’ll probably stay with Lipscomb in this one. The Bisons are looking good during this current four-game win streak; they’ve hit 69 or more points in all four games and 75 or more in three of them. Lipscomb shouldn’t have too many issues hanging a hefty total here if they’re playing well; Jacksonville State has given up 68 or more points in four of their last six outings. I don’t think the Gamecocks will keep pace here.
