The Florida A&M Rattlers and Kansas State Wildcats meet Wednesday in college basketball action at the Bramlage Coliseum. The Florida A&M Rattlers won eight games last year and enter the fifth season under coach Robert McCullum. The Kansas State Wildcats won nine games last year and enter the 10th season under coach Bruce Weber.
The Florida A&M Rattlers return their top-five scorers from last season and have seven seniors on their roster. While Florida A&M may not be the most talented team in the country, the Rattlers have to be thrilled with the returning production and all this experience. Florida A&M is in a good spot to make some noise for once. MJ Randolph returns after averaging 15.3 points and 6.4 rebounds, while Jalen Speer averaged 11.7 points and 2.4 assists. DJ Jones dished 1.5 assists per game and Bryce Moragne averaged 7.3 rebounds.
The Kansas State Wildcats return their top-two scorers from last season and four of their top-five scorers overall. Kansas State also gets a quality transfer in Mark Smith, who had previous stops at Illinois and Missouri. It’s been back-to-back poor years in Manhattan, but Kansas State has to like its chances for a bounce back season. Selton Miguel dished 2.2 assists per game last season, and Davion Bradford averaged 4.3 rebounds.
