Kansas State vs Incarnate Word 12/11/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Incarnate Word Cardinals and the Kansas State Wildcats meet Sunday in college basketball action from Bramlage Coliseum. Incarnate Word is 5-5 overall this year and fresh off a loss to Grambling State. As for Kansas State, they’re sitting at 8-1 so far. The Wildcats beat Abilene Christian in their last game. Incarnate Word went 1-3 over their first four games this year with a lone win over TX Lutheran. The Cardinals went on to win three straight before taking a loss to UTSA. After a win over DCC, Incarnate Word lost in a blowout to Grambling State. 

Last Saturday versus Grambling State, the Cardinals posted just 16 points in the first half. Incarnate Word would end up limping to a 72-39 loss. Leading scorers Benjamin Griscti and Brandon Swaby each notched 11 points. 

Over on the Kansas State side, they’ve got one loss courtesy of Butler on November 30. Otherwise it’s been wins over UTRGV, California, UMKC, Rhode Island, Nevada, LSU, Wichita State and Abilene Christian.  

In the matchup versus Abilene Christian last weekend, Kansas State held a slim one-point lead at the break. The Wildcats scored 46 points from there and took an 81-64 win. Markquis Nowell doubled up on 15 points with 12 assists and six boards in the victory. 

PICK: I’m probably staying with Kansas State, but the line’s too thick to mess with. The Wildcats posted a nice effort versus Abilene Christian in their last game, shooting 58.5 percent from the field with 36 rebounds and 23 assists. There’s plenty to clean up, however; Kansas State shot just 3-of-12 (25 percent) from 3-point range and 16-of-29 (55.2 percent) from the line. As for Incarnate Word, they had a rough outing against Grambling State in their last game. The Cardinals have scored 63 or fewer points in three of their last four games and I don’t think they’ll get close here either.
