The New Orleans Privateers and the Kansas State Wildcats meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Bramlage Coliseum. Here’s a Kansas State vs New Orleans prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Kansas State vs New Orleans pick.

New Orleans Privateers Betting Preview

The Privateers didn’t have the greatest campaign in the world last year, going 10-23 overall with a 4-14 run in the Southland Conference. New Orleans finished ahead of only Houston Christian and Incarnate Word in the standings, ultimately falling to Lamar in the conference tourney.

New Orleans gets a fresh start in 2024-25 with new head coach Stacy Hollowell. He’ll have just one starter back from last year’s team as he tries to turn around a program with just one winning season in the last five years. Jamond Vincent, Mason Jones, and Jah Short are the only returners.

Kansas State Wildcats Betting Preview

Over on the Kansas State side, they’re coming off a 19-15 overall run a season ago. The Wildcats went 8-10 in the Big 12, finishing ahead of just four teams in the standings. Kansas State lost to Iowa State in the conference tourney then fell to Iowa in the NIT opener.

The Wildcats have head coach Jerome Tang back for his third season at the helm. Tang loses four of his five starters and returns just three players. Those returnees—all wings—are David N’Guessan (7.8 PPG), Macaleab Rich (3.8 PPG) Taj Manning (1.0 PPG).

Kansas State vs New Orleans Prediction

I’ll probably just stay with Kansas State. The Wildcats may be able to take a step forward this year, as they’ve restocked with some intriguing names.—specifically senior Coleman Hawkins (12.1 PPG) and junior Dug McDaniel (16.3 PPG). The bad news is that the Big 12 gets a lot more competitive this year with Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah in the mix.

As for New Orleans, they’ve got plenty of work to do following last year’s disappointing campaign and a near-fresh slate on the roster. The loss of Jordan Johnson (21.3 PPG) leaves a significant scoring hole, but the Privateers have a few intriguing options to help fill in. For now, though, I don’t think they’ll get close.
