West Virginia Mountaineers
The Mountaineers have been pretty choppy all year, and have yet to win consecutive games. West Virginia is just 2-7 in their last nine outings, falling to UCF, Oklahoma State, BYU, Texas, TCU, Baylor and Iowa State with wins over Cincinnati and UCF otherwise in that time.
In their latest matchup versus Iowa State on Saturday, the Mountaineers were down by 10 points at halftime. West Virginia got slightly better from there on a 34-31 run but took the loss 71-64 in the end. Kerr Kriisa and Kobe Johnson each posted a team-high 12 points in the defeat.

Kansas State Wildcats
Over on the Wildcats’ side, they got off to a nice 14-4 start over their first 18 games but have had trouble since then. Kansas State is just 2-7 in their last nine as well with losses to Iowa State, Houston, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, BYU, TCU and Texas during that stretch.
Back on Saturday versus BYU, the Wildcats were able to get back into the win column. Kansas State came out of the break with a 42-38 edge and powered out the win 84-74 with a 42-36 second half. Arthur Kaluma topped the team on a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds.
ANDREW’S FREE WEST VIRGINIA VS KANSAS STATE PREDICTION
I’ll stick with Kansas State. The Wildcats put together a nice win in their last outing versus BYU, hitting 56.3 percent from the field with 33 rebounds and 20 assists. The 13 rebounds didn’t help, but it was a nice home win all the same. Kansas State has now scored 72 or more points in four of the last six games.
These teams last saw each other on January 9 in an 81-67 road win for the Wildcats. Kansas State managed to shoot a nice 53.8 percent from the field in that one and held a 35-22 rebounding edge. This one might not be so one-sided, but the Wildcats should be fine on a cover if they play well.
