The Green Bay Phoenix and the Kansas State Wildcats meet in college basketball action from Bramlage Coliseum on Sunday afternoon.
The Green Bay Phoenix come into this one on the heels of a 64-55 loss at the hands of Kansas City in their last matchup. Emmanuel Ansong leads the Phoenix in scoring and rebounding with 13.1 PPG and 5.4 RPG while Donovan Ivory has 11 PPG with 4.3 RPG as the only other double-digit scorer for the Phoenix up to this point in the season. Lucas Stieber leads the Phoenix in assists with 4.7 APG up to this point in the season. As a team, Green Bay is averaging 60.8 PPG on 40.2% shooting from the field, 26.8% from three and 73.9% from the foul line while allowing 66.2 PPG on 43.9% shooting from the field and 31.3% from three this season.
The Kansas State Wildcats will look to bounce back from a 64-63 loss at the hands of Marquette last time out. Nijel Pack leads the Wildcats in scoring with 15.8 PPG while Markquis Nowell has 12.1 PPg and a team-high 4.1 APG as well as the only other double-digit scorer up to this point in the year. Mark Smith has 9.5 PPG along with a team-high 7.5 RPG to lead the Wildcats on the glass. As a team, Kansas State is averaging 69.6 PPG on 43.5% shooting from the field, 32.4% from three and 71% from the foul line while allowing 59.1 PPG on 37.4% shooting from the field and 24.6% from three this season.
The under is 7-0 in Green Bay’s last 7 games following a loss and 6-1 in their last 7 games overall. Kansas State is 7-16-1 ATS in their last 24 home games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games following a loss.
I get why you could make a case for the points as Kansas State as this isn’t normally a K-State team that blows teams away and puts up tons of offense. However, Green Bay, in two true road games this season, have averaged 44.5 PPG and I think Kansas State defensively is closer to Wisconsin’s caliber who held the Phoenix to just 34 points. I think K-State wins this one by at least 20 points, so give me the Wildcats laying the points here.
