The Texas Southern Tigers and the Kansas Jayhawks meet Monday in college basketball action from Allen Fieldhouse. Texas Southern is currently 1-6 and coming off a loss to Samford. As for Kansas, they’re 6-1 overall. The Jayhawks took their first loss to Tennessee on Friday. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Texas Southern began their year with consecutive losses to San Francisco and Texas Tech. The Tigers stopped the skid with a win over Arizona State, then fell to Oral Roberts, Houston and Auburn.

In game seven versus Samford, the Tigers were outscored 43-28 by halftime. Texas Southern ended up limping to a 78-63 loss. Davon Barnes led the team with 30 points, and John Walker added 15 points.

Over on the Kansas side, they began the season with six straight wins. Those victories came versus Omaha, North Dakota State, Duke, Southern Utah, NC State and Wisconsin in succession.

The Jayhawks had a tough matchup against Tennessee on Friday and struggled mightily. Kansas scored just 25 points in each half for a 64-50 loss. Jalen Wilson and Joseph Yesufu led the team on 14 points.

PICK: I’m probably going to stay with Kansas. This game is a colossal mismatch on paper and the Jayhawks should have no problem winning. The only question is by how much. The Jayhawks are coming off a bad game versus the Volunteers, posting just 32.1 percent shooting and a rebounding deficit of 45-27. I like the Jayhawks to bounce back here and get back to form in a blowout win.
