The Yale Bulldogs and the Kentucky Wildcats meet in college basketball action from Rupp Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Yale Bulldogs come into this game fresh off of a 71-61 loss at the hands of Butler last time out. Matt Knowling has 16.2 PPG and 4.7 RPG to lead the Bulldogs in scoring and rebounding while John Poulakidas has 10.8 PPG  and EJ Jarvis has 10 PPG with 3.8 RPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Yale up to this point in the year. Bez Mbeng has a team-high 3.5 APG to lead the Bulldogs in the assist department. As a team, Yale is averaging 78.3 PPG on 49% shooting from the field, 34.5% from three and 70.6% from the foul line this season.

The Kentucky Wildcats will try to add to their current three-game win streak after a 73-69 win over Michigan last time out. Antonio Reeves leads the Wildcats in scoring with 14.4 PPG while Oscar Tshiebwe has 14.2 PPG with a team-high 13.5 RPG to lead the Wildcats on the glass by averaging a double-double per game. Jacob Toppin has 12.9 PPG with 6.9 RPG while Cason Wallace has 11 PPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Kentucky so far this season. Sahvir Wheeler also has 8.9 PPG with a team-high 7.3 APG to lead the Wildcats In assists as well this season. As a team, Kentucky is averaging 82 PPG on 46.5% shooting from the field, 39.3% from three and 68.4% from the foul line this season.

I get the case to be made for Yale in the underdog role as the Bulldogs have never been afraid to take on the big boys and show up to play. However, this is a whole different ball of wax, as the Kentucky Wildcats are still one of the top teams in the country and just have too much depth for Yale to contend with in my opinion. Yale could keep this one close or maybe keep it at a 12-14 point margin here, but I think an 18-20 point margin of victory in favor of the Wildcats is the more likely result here. Give me Kentucky in this one.
