The Holy Cross Crusaders will travel to the Kirby Sports Center to take on the Lafayette Leopards this Monday night in College Basketball action.

The Holy Cross Crusaders snapped their 2-game losing streak and improved to 9-18 on the season after defeating the Navy Midshipmen, 55-50, this past Saturday. Holy Cross was outstanding defensively against Navy and took the lead for good after a Gerrale Gates jumper gave the Crusaders a 52-50 lead with :50 seconds left in regulation. Holy Cross shot 38.9% from the field & 40.0% from beyond the arc while holding Navy to just 26.6% shooting from the field & 15.4% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Crusaders was Gerrale Gates who had a double-double with 24 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, & 2 blocks.

On the season, Holy Cross is averaging 65.5 ppg on 41.8% shooting from the field. The Crusaders are averaging 5.7 three-pointers per game on 34.7% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Holy Cross has been led by Gerrale Gates (15.8 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 1.96 apg), Kyrell Luc (13.2 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.5 spg), Bo Montgomery (8.6 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.1 apg), & Judson Martindale (8.0 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.0 apg).

Defensively, Holy Cross is allowing their opponents to average 70.2 ppg on 45.8% shooting from the field. The Crusaders have a rebound margin of -1.2 and a turnover margin of -0.2.

The Lafayette Leopards dropped to 9-17 on the season after being defeated by the Bucknell Bison, 92-89 (OT), this past Saturday. Lafayette was able to fight back from a 66-51 deficit with 13:48 left in regulation to force OT, however, Bucknell was able to escape with the victory after Andrew Funk hit game-winning three-pointer for the Bison with just :05 seconds left in OT. Lafayette shot 56.7% from the field & 37.0% from beyond the arc while allowing Bucknell to shoot 51.7% from the field & 42.9% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Leopards was Neal Quinn who had 24 points, 4 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 steal, & 1 block.

On the season, Lafayette is averaging 67.3 ppg on 43.2% shooting from the field. The Leopards are averaging 8.5 three-pointers per game on 31.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Lafayette has been led by Neal Quinn (14.7 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 3.9 apg, 1.3 bpg), Tyrone Perry (11.3 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 3.0 apg), Kyle Jenkins (10.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 2.1 apg), & Leo O’Boyle (10.1 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.4 apg).

Defensively, Lafayette is allowing their opponents to average 72.6 ppg on 45.4% shooting from the field. The Leopards have a rebound margin of -5.4 and a turnover margin of -0.1.

The Crusaders are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games, however, are just 6-20 ATS in their last 26 games following a straight up win. The Leopards are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up loss, however, are just 3-10 ATS in their last 13 home games.

Hoy Cross has struggled on both ends of the court this season as the Crusaders come into this game ranked just 299th in scoring offense, 209th in scoring defense, & 305th in defensive FG%. Lafayette has also had issues on both ends of the court as the Leopards come into this matchup ranked just 269th in scoring offense, 266th in scoring defense, & 291st in defensive FG%. Holy Cross has won 3 of their last 5 games which includes an impressive road win at Navy and as Holy Cross was able to take down the Leopards on their home court earlier this season, I think the Crusaders do enough with the points to get us a cover. Good Luck!
