Vermont Takes Down Saint Louis
The Vermont Catamounts will be looking to hoist the Myrtle Beach Invitational trophy after a 78-68 win over Saint Louis last time out to improve to 4-0 on the year. TJ Long leads the Catamounts in scoring with 15.3 PPG along with 3.8 RPG while Matt Veretto has 13.5 PPG with 3.3 RPG and a team-high 2.8 APG to share the team lead in assists with Shamir Bogues who has 13 PPG with 4.3 RPG and 2.8 APG of his own to cap off the scoring in double figures for Vermont so far this season. Aaron Deloney has 9 PPG with 3.5 RPG and 2.8 APG as well while Ileri Ayo-Faleye has 7.3 PPG and a team-high 6.5 RPG to lead Vermont in rebounding this season. As a team, Vermont is averaging 77.5 PPG on 50.2% shooting from the field, 38.8% from three and 69.6% from the foul line this season.
Liberty Crushes Wichita State
The Liberty Flames come into this one fresh off of their 83-66 win over Wichita State to improve to 4-0 on the year. Kyle Rode leads the Flames in scoring with 20.5 PPG along with 3.8 RPG while Brody Peebles has 15 PPG with 3.3 RPG and Kaden Metheny has 10.3 PPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Liberty up to this point in the year. Colin Porter has 9.3 PPG with a team-high 4.5 APG to lead the Flames in the assist department while Joseph Vanzant has a team-high 7.3 RPG to lead the Flames on the glass. As a team, Liberty is averaging 86.3 PPG on 50.8% shooting from the field, 40.7% from three and 67.1% from the foul line this season.

I’m backing Liberty here. I like Vermont a lot and we’re going to make plenty with them come conference play, but Liberty is just on another level right now, they’re shooting the lights out, playing great defense, and look to be the front-runner in their debut season in conference USA. I’ll lay it and play it with the Flames here.
