The UAB Blazers and the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns meet Monday in college basketball action from Sports and Fitness Center. Here’s a Louisiana vs UAB prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Louisiana vs UAB pick.
UAB Blazers Betting Preview
The Blazers have been pretty busy so far this year, with seven games in the bag already. UAB has gone a tepid 3-4 in those outings however, beating Southern Miss, Southeastern LA, and Auburn Montgomery with losses to Vermont, High Point, Longwood, and Illinois State.
Matched up against the Redbirds on Saturday, the Blazers went into the second half with a 43-39 edge. UAB was outscored by five from there and took a tough loss 84-83. Alejandro Vasquez put up 19 points with three rebounds in the defeat.
Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Betting Preview
Over on the Louisiana side, they managed to win just one of their first six games this year. The Cajuns beat Texas Dallas in game two. Otherwise, it was losses to Kent State, Houston, Rice, Liberty, and George Washington in that span.
In the George Washington game Saturday, the Cajuns were outscored 35-30 in the first half and 48-44 in the second for an 83-74 defeat. Mostapha El Moutaouakkil led the team with 19 points and seven rebounds in the losing effort.

Louisiana vs UAB Prediction
I’ll probably just stick with UAB. The Blazers shot well against Illinois State over the weekend, notching 55.4 percent from the field. UAB gave up 56.6 percent on the other side, however, as well as getting out-rebounded 29-23 with 16 turnovers along the way. UAB has scored well lately with 81 or more points in three straight. They’ve given up a combined 173 in their last pair, however.
As for Louisiana, they’ve been below 70 points in three of their last four games and four of six overall. The Cajuns have given up 83 or more points in four straight themselves, so UAB should have plenty of openings in this one.
