The Bellarmine Knights and the Louisville Cardinals meet Tuesday in college basketball action from KFC Yum! Center. Here’s a Louisville vs Bellarmine prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Louisville vs Bellarmine pick.
Bellarmine Knights Betting Preview
The Knights have four games in the books so far, but they haven’t been able to find a win yet. Bellarmine fell hard against VCU 84-65 in their opener, then got closer against VMI 76-71 in game two. Game three was another loss 71-69 versus Southern Indiana.
Bellarmine took on Marshall in their latest matchup on Saturday. The Knights were all tied up 34-34 by the break, then fell behind 49-28 the rest of the way for an 83-62 blowout loss. Top scorer Jack Karasinski posted 20 points with three rebounds along the way. Bellarmine will meet Bowling Green and Northern Kentucky after this one.
Louisville Cardinals Betting Preview
Over on the Louisville side, they’ve been comparatively inactive this year with only two games. The first was a big 93-45 blowout win over Morehead State. Leading scorer Kasean Pryor posted a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds in that one.
In game two versus Tennessee on November 9, the Cardinals took their first loss. Louisville was down 40-26 by halftime and didn’t get any closer on a 77-55 blowout result. Reyne Smith was tops this time with 18 points and five rebounds in 23 minutes.
Why the Louisville Cardinals will win
- Bellarmine has lost each of its last 11 games following a road loss.
- The home team has won six of Bellarmine’s last eight games.
- Bellarmine has lost the first half in five of its last six road games against non-AP-ranked opponents.
Why the Bellarmine Knights will win
- Louisville has lost each of its last 13 Tuesday games.
- Louisville has lost the first half in six of its last seven home games.
Louisville vs Bellarmine Prediction
I’ll stick with Louisville I suppose. The Cardinals have been off the floor for quite some time, so they’ve had ample opportunity to consider their loss to Tennessee and prep for this matchup. Louisville shot a rough 26.7 percent from the field in that defeat with a 40-26 rebounding deficit and 15 turnovers. Needless to say, they’ll match up much better here.
As for Bellarmine, they’ve only hit 70 points once this year—and they’ve given up 71 or more points in all four games so far. The Knights had 15 turnovers and a 34-29 rebounding deficit in the Marshall game, stats which will likely only get worse on Tuesday. It’s a total mismatch on paper.
