Louisville vs Florida A&M 12/17/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Florida A&M Rattlers and the Louisville Cardinals meet Saturday in college basketball action from KFC Yum! Center. Florida A&M comes into this one at 2-6 overall. The Rattlers Beat Edward Waters in their last game. As for Louisville, they’re sitting at 1-9 following a victory over Western Kentucky. Florida A&M has a half-dozen losses so far to Oregon, Portland, Oregon State, Miami-FL, Florida and Georgia. Outside of that the Rattlers have managed victories over Albany State and Edward Waters. 

In the Edward Waters game, Florida A&M trailed 22-18 at halftime. The Rattlers bounced back on a 40-25 run in the second for a 58-47 win. Leading scorer Jaylen Bates put up 13 points with 12 rebounds and Jordan Tillmon added 12 points. 

Over on the Louisville side, they opened the year with a losing streak to Bellarmine, Wright State, App State, Arkansas, Texas Tech, Cincinnati, Maryland, Miami-FL and Florida State before a win over Western Kentucky. 

In Wednesday’s matchup versus Western Kentucky, the Cardinals scored 46 points in the first half and 48 more after the break for a 94-83 victory. Tops in scoring was El Ellis with 30 points and 10 assists. Kamari Lands added 15 points as well. 

PICK: I’m probably going to stay with the Cardinals. Louisville opened up the season on an ugly losing streak, but to be fair the Cardinals did play some tough matchups in that time. Louisville is coming off a nice win over a good Western Kentucky team, shooting 54.4 percent from the field, 13-of-25 (52 percent) from 3-point range and 19-of-20 (95 percent) from the line. As for Florida A&M, they’ve had trouble scoring this year and have been at 62 points or below in three straight games. Louisville should be able to cover here if they play to their capabilities.
