The Central Arkansas Bears and the Loyola Chicago Ramblers meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Gentile Arena. Central Arkansas is 4-3 overall so far. The Bears beat Idaho State in their last game. As for Loyola, they’re 2-4 this year following a loss to Harvard. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Central Arkansas went 2-2 over their first four games with wins over Little Rock and Hendrix alongside losses to Wichita State and Niagara. The Bears would then beat Rider and lose to Northwestern State.

On Sunday versus Idaho State, the Bears managed another win versus Idaho State. Central Arkansas scored 44 points in the second half on the way to an 81-77 win. Masai Olowokere doubled up with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Over on the Loyola side, they won their first two games versus Fairleigh Dickinson and UIC. Since then it’s been a four-game losing streak to Tulsa, Boise State, Texas A&M and Harvard, however.

Last Friday versus Harvard, Loyola trailed 33-26 by the break. The Ramblers got a little better in the second half but still lost 61-55. Tom Welch was the only team double-digit scorer with 12 points and three boards.

PICK: I’m likely going to stay with Central Arkansas. The Bears’ offense has been working pretty well this year in comparable matchups. Central AR has hit 81 or more points in four of their last six games. That said, the Bears have been playing it pretty close in a lot of their wins, so if the Ramblers can get off to a good start I wouldn’t be surprised to see them keeping the pace most of the way. I still like Central AR to ultimately power out a cover, though.
