The Army Black Knights and the Loyola Greyhounds meet Thursday in college basketball action from Reitz Arena. Army is currently 8-7 overall and coming off a win over Lafayette. As for Loyola, they’re 5-10 so far this year. The Greyhounds lost to American on Monday. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Army went 5-5 to start the year, losing to Stonehill, William & Mary, Radford, Princeton and Manhattan. The Knights are 3-2 since then with wins over Central CT State, Lehigh and Lafayette during that time.

In the Lafayette game on Monday, the Knights took a 54-36 edge into the second half. Army was outscored 29-28 from there but still won 82-65. Jalen Rucker led the team on 21 points with six rebounds.

Over on the Loyola side, they were 4-6 after 10 games with wins over Brown, Washington MD, LA-Monroe and Binghamton. The Greyhounds have since gone 1-4 with losses to Mount St. Mary’s, UMBC, Colgate and American.

Matched up against American on Monday, the Greyhounds were drilled 37-22 in the first half. Loyola scored another 33 points in the second half and lost 71-55. Jaylin Andrews was tops on 13 points with two rebounds.

PICK: I’ll probably stay with Army. The Knights have been playing fairly well during this three-game win streak, and they’ve hit a combined 162 points over their last two victories. Army isn’t the biggest scoring team in the world this year, but they should have plenty of opportunities to put up points against Loyola. The Greyhounds have 122 combined points over their last pair and probably won’t put up much of a fuss on the scoreboard here.
