The NC Central Eagles and the LSU Tigers meet in college basketball action from the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Tuesday night.

The NC Central Eagles will try to bounce back after a 90-78 loss to Marquette last time out. Justin Wright leads NC Central in scoring with 15.6 PPG while Kris Monroe has 11 PPG with a team-high 5.8 RPG to lead the Eagles on the glass and Brendan Medley-Bacon has 10 PPG with 4.7 RPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for NC Central so far this season. Eric Boone also has 9.7 PPG with 4.9 RPG and a team-high 5.4 APG to lead the Eagles in the assist department this season. As a team, NC Central is averaging 81.3 PPG on 49.4% shooting from the field, 42.5% from three and 72.5% from the foul line this season.

The LSU Tigers will look to build on a three-game win streak after a 72-70 win over Wake Forest last time out. KJ Williams has 18.7 PPG with a team-high 7.7 RPG to lead the Tigers on the glass as well while Adam Miller has 15.3 PPG as the only other double-digit scorer for LSU so far this season. Justice Hill also has 8.8 PPG and 4.2 APG to lead the Tigers in the assist department this season. As a team, LSU is averaging 72 PPG on 45.7% shooting from the field, 38.6% from three and 70.2% from the foul line this season.

NC Central is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 Tuesday games while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 road games. LSU is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a win and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games against a team with a losing road record while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a win.

I get the reasoning for backing either side in this one, but I think the better play in this one is the over. LSU should be able to get what they want offensively as they have against a lot of the lesser teams they’ve faced this season, but NC Central, like they did against Marquette, showed they can go toe-to-toe with some of the big boys and I think this one’s going to end up being no different. Give me the over here.
