Marquette vs Jackson State 11/30/21 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Jackson State Tigers and the Marquette Golden Eagles meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Fiserv Forum. Jackson State is 1-5 so far and coming off their first win of the year over Louisiana. As for Marquette, they’re 6-1 this season and beat Northern Illinois in their last outing. Jackson State had some trouble in their first five games of the year. The Tigers lost to Illinois, LA Tech, Cal Baptist, Marshall and Indiana to start out 0-5. Jackson State finally got a W over Louisiana in their last game, though. 

In the matchup versus Louisiana, Jackson State had a 44-33 lead at halftime and was able to hang on for a 75-70 victory. Leading scorer for the Tigers was Gabe Watson with 22 points and five rebounds. Jayveous McKinnis doubled up on 16 points and 12 boards as well. 

Over on the Marquette side, they won their first five games versus SIU-Edwardsville, New Hampshire, Illinois, Ole Miss and West Virginia. The Eagles took a loss to St. Bonaventure but bounced back against Northern Illinois in their last game. 

Back on Saturday versus Northern Illinois, the Eagles notched a 39-28 edge at the break and kept it going during an 80-66 win. Justin Lewis topped the team on 15 points and six rebounds. Stevie Mitchell added 11 points with four boards and four assists. 

The Eagles are 1-4 ATS in their last five at home and 2-7 ATS in their last nine Tuesday games. The over is 5-2 in Marquette’s last seven overall. 

Meanwhile, the Tigers are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five Tuesday games. The over is 4-1 in Jackson State’s last five overall. 

PICK: I’m probably going to just stay with Marquette here. The Eagles managed a nice win over NIU in their last game, shooting 51.9 percent from the field with a 39-27 rebounding advantage and 19 team assists. The 20 turnovers were ugly however, and Marquette hit just 6-of-20 from 3-point range. 

As for Jackson State, they’re coming off a nice game themselves and I like the Tigers to hang around in this one for a while. Marquette should have the advantage in most facets, however.
