Longwood Lancers Betting Preview
Longwood is off to a great start so far this year with six straight wins—and a few pretty close finishes. The Lancers have taken out Randolph, Morgan State, Milwaukee, TN-Martin, Binghamton, and UAB in succession over their first half-dozen outings.
In the UAB game, the Lancers went into the locker room all knotted up at 43-43. After a 46-38 second-half run, Longwood secured the victory 89-81. Leading scorer Michael Christmas finished with 17 points, and Kyrell Luc added 14 points with five boards.

Over on the McNeese side, they got off to a .500 start with two wins and two losses in their first quartet. The Cowboys started with a loss to South Dakota State, then beat the College of Biblical Studies before a loss to Alabama and a win over North Texas.
In Friday’s game versus Illinois State, McNeese State was up 43-36 by halftime. The Cowboys edged out a 33-32 run from there to take the win 76-68. Javohn Garcia topped the team with 16 points with seven rebounds.

McNeese State vs Longwood Prediction
I might try Longwood here. You could make an argument either way, though. The Lancers have looked pretty sharp over their first six games, powering out an enviable series of wins. In Friday’s victory, Longwood shot just 26.7 percent (4-of-15) from 3-point range and got out-rebounded 38-28 (16-6 offensive). The Lancers powered out the win thanks to 51.7 percent from the floor, 88.5 percent (23-of-26) from the line, and just seven turnovers. It was a nice return to scoring form after a combined 130 points over their previous two games.
As for McNeese State, they’ve got consecutive wins under their collective belt for the first time this year. The Cowboys shot a decent 44.4 percent from the field with 37 rebounds in their Friday win over Illinois State, and they’ve hit 68 or more points in four of five games so far. I wouldn’t be surprised to see McNeese State control this one, but I also wouldn’t be surprised to see Longwood power out a cover.
