The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns and the McNeese Cowboys meet in college basketball action from the Legacy Center on Thursday night.

The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns will be out to build on a 98-63 win over subdivision Louisiana College last time out. Jordan Brown leads Louisiana in scoring with 19.6 PPG along with 7.1 RPG while Terence Lewis II has 13.6 PPG with a team-high 9.3 RPG to lead the Cajuns on the glass and Greg Williams Jr. has 13.5 PPG with 4.1 RPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Louisiana up to this point in the season. Themus Fulks also has a team-high 5.9 APG to lead the Ragin’ Cajuns in the assist department as well this season. As a team, Louisiana is averaging 85.1 PPG on 50.3% shooting from the field, 40.4% from three and 71.8% from the foul line this season.

The McNeese Cowboys will hope to rebound from a 77-40 loss to Iowa State last time out.Trae English leads the Cowboys in scoring with 10.9 PPG and in assists with 3 APG while Christian Shumate has 10.8 PPG and a team-high 9.7 RPG to lead the Cowboys in rebounding this season as the only other double-digit scorer for McNeese up to this point in the season. As a team, McNeese is averaging 63.8 PPG on 41.9% shooting from the field, 32.9% from three and 53.3% from the foul line this season.

Louisiana is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following a win by 20 or more points and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 Thursday games while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games following a loss by 20 or more points. McNeese is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a loss by 20 or more points and 5-17 ATS in their last 22 home games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games following an ATS loss.

I get the case to be made for either side here, but I’m on the over in this one. I don’t see either side getting a ton of stops in this game as McNeese has had defensive issues, while Louisiana’s no saint, giving up 77 points to a bad New Orleans offense a couple of games ago. Even if this one ends up being one-sided, I can see McNeese keeping this one high-scoring enough to get up and over the number.
