Tulane Green Wave
Tulane went 10-5 in their first 15 games, losing to Nevada, Western Kentucky, Fordham, George Mason and Cincinnati in that time. The Wave are 4-2 since then with wins over SMU, UCF, Wichita State and SMU again.
In the SMU rematch on Wednesday, the Wave jumped out to a 39-28 halftime lead. Tulane hit a 35-24 run in the second on the way to a 74-52 win. Leading scorer Jalen Cook put up 22 points with six rebounds in the victory.
Memphis Tigers
Over on the Memphis side, they lost to only Saint Louis, Seton Hall, Alabama and Tulane in their first 16 games. The Tigers have since gone 5-1 with wins over Temple, Wichita State, Cincinnati, SMU and Tulsa.
In the Tulsa game on Sunday, the Tigers nursed a two-point lead at the break. Memphis posted a 43-33 run in the second and won it 80-68, though. Kendric Davis scored 26 points, and DeAndre Williams put up 17 points with 11 rebounds.

I’m going to stick with Memphis here. You could make a case either way, though; it should be a great matchup. The Tigers are on a nice five-game win streak right now and they’ve scored 75 or more points in four straight outings. The last time these teams met up back on January 1, the Green Wave took a 96-89 victory thanks to a 59-52 advantage in the second half. Both teams shot pretty well in that one and it was an evenly-matched game most of the way. I like another close back-and-forth rematch with Memphis getting a little revenge with a cover.
